Red Cross Talks Discuss Abductees, POWs

The Red Cross organizations of the two Koreas on Wednesday discussed confirming the whereabouts of South Korean abductees and prisoners of war in North Korea.

The South proposed expanding the number of reunions between separated relatives from three a year to four and holding regular reunions on June 15th, August 15th, the Chuseok holidays and Lunar New Year.

The South also asked that entire families from both sides be allowed to meet at reunions and exchange letters every month at the truce village of Panmunjom.

The North, however, stuck to its position that POWs and South Korean abductees meet with their families in regular reunions.
