North Korea says it expects the World Food Program to approve a bill on continued food aid to the North.

The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday said North Korean officials attending the U.N. relief agency's board meeting in Rome urged continued humanitarian assistance.

In prior negotiations with Pyongyang, the program agreed to continue food aid to pregnant women and children aged six and under in North Korea.

The agreement also includes aid for public workers but excludes the impoverished and elderly.
