Large Inter-Korean Reunion to Mark Summit

North Korea has proposed a grand reunion of 200 separated relatives from each Korea to mark the sixth anniversary of the 2000 inter-Korean declaration.

On the second day of inter-Korean Red Cross talks Wednesday, the North upped the original figure from 100 as agreed by both sides.

It also proposed two more video reunions to mark the declaration and Liberation Day on August 15th, and expanding the number of relatives to reunite from 40 to 60 from each side.

The North, however, rejected the South's requests to hold regular reunions, allow separated relatives to exchange mail and confirm the whereabouts of South Korean abductees and POWs.
