President Kim Dae-jung said the current spring meeting at the World Trade Center Association in Seoul would play a pivotal role in reviving resilience in economic growth and adding fresh vigor into the global trade and investment.

In an opening address, President Kim said he is making utmost efforts to shape the nation as the most fitting place to do business in the world.

He said his government would actively involve itself in promoting the global and multi-faceted trade order like the World Trade Organization and encouraging trade contacts with major partners.

He also stated that he would help establish cyber trade networks among East Asian nations in anticipation of an increase of over 30 percent in cyber trade volume by the year 2004.
