The two Koreas from Monday will discuss trial operation of an inter-Korean railway in North Korea's border city of Gaesong.

Vice Unification Minister Shin Un-sang in Seoul told a weekly briefing Thursday that in two days of talks, officials from both sides will discuss starting test runs next month and full operations ahead of schedule.

South Korea wants to start the railway's operation by April.

Meanwhile, former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung plans to visit North Korea by train in June.
