'Ministers' Talks on Abductees, POWs Sought'

Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok says the government hopes to discuss South Korean abductees and POWs in North Korea at a higher level such as a ministerial-level meeting.

Announcing the results of the inter-Korean Red Cross talks Friday, Lee told a radio show that Seoul will focus on substantial progress instead of pressuring Pyongyang since confirming the whereabouts and repatriating the abductees and POWs are most important.

North Korea wants to discuss the matter in the framework of the reunions of separated families.

He said the North's admission of abductees and sincere attitude are important accomplishments.

On the six-way nuclear talks, Lee said the meeting could open in late March or April.
