A Foreign Ministry official said Wednesday senior security policy-makers from South Korea and the United States will hold a "two plus two" meeting in Seoul Thursday to discuss a wide range of pending issues, including the strengthening of Korean-U.S. coordination in formulating North Korea policies.
The official noted that the meeting will be attended by Foreign Affairs-Trade Minister Han Seung-soo, Defense Minister Kim Dong-shin, U.S. Charge d'affaires Evans Revere and U.S. Forces Korea Commander Gen. Thomas Schwartz.
During the meeting, the four will exchange opinions on the recent developments in inter-Korean relations and the operation of the newly-effectuated agreement on the legal status of U.S. servicemen stationed in the country.
Also on the table will be the recent U.S.-Chinese negotiations over the return of the U.S. spy plane still being held in China after an April 1st collision with a Chinese jet forced it to make an emergency landing.
The last "two plus two" meeting was held in February.
