North Korea has asked for help from the United Nations Development and Environment Program in revising its law on environmental protection.

Radio Free Asia, a U.S. government-funded station, on Monday quoted a senior Thai diplomat as saying a North Korean delegation made the request to the UNEP office in Bangkok.

The report said the North also sent delegations to Nepal and Bhutan to observe their forest management and protection, adding Pyongyang is apparently growing more interested in the world community.
