The Anglo-Korean Society, a London-based friendship association with South Korea, plans to invite two North Korean scholars. They will attend a Korean studies seminar in November.

This is the first time a British organization has invited scholars from the reclusive country.

The invitation was extended through a British Foreign Ministry delegation, which visited Pyongyang last month.

The society is chaired by a former British Ambassador to Seoul.
