Participants at a KBS seminar on the promotion of terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting on Tuesday agreed on the need for a roadmap for a swift transfer to digital.

Attended by officials from the Korean Broadcasting Commission and the ministries of finance and information, they also urged the mandatory installation of digital tuners on TVs and setting a deadline for analog broadcasters to switch over to digital.

To that end, three land-based broadcasters asked for government support by raising the TV tax and improving advertising.
