Construction of the Customs, Immigrations and Quarantine office of the inter-Korean Donghae Railway is set to be officially completed on Wednesday.

According to the Unification Ministry Tuesday, a ceremony marking the completion of the two-story building will be held in Goseong, Gangwon Province Wednesday morning.

The ceremony will be attended by some three-hundred local citizens as well as officials from the government and construction firms that took part in building the office.

Around 27 billion won was injected into the construction, which began in June 2004.

The completion of the office comes after a Customs, Immigrations and Quarantine office of the cross-border Gyeongui Railway officially launched operations earlier in January.

The two Koreas had been running temporary offices at their borders since July 2000 following their agreement re-connect inter-Korean railways and roads.
