A group of Sakhalin Koreans who were forcibly taken to the Soviet occupied Island of Sakhalin, during the Japanese colonial rule period, came home to permanently reside in an apartment furnished by the Korea National Housing Corporation.

The second group of Sakhalin Koreans arrived at Incheon International Airport Friday and are housed in an apartment in Deung Chon-dong, Seoul.

KNHC officials say a total of 164 Sakhalin Koreans from 82 households will be moved in four different phases in the Seoul and Incheon City area.

968 Sakhalin Koreans from 489 households moved in an apartment in Ilsan, northern Seoul last year, based on an agreement between Korea and Japan in 1994.
