Inter-Korean Red Cross Talks End Without Results

Red Cross officials of the two Koreas have failed to agree on pending bilateral issues, including the establishment of a video reunion center.

According to an official of the South Korean Red Cross Monday, the South’s delegation to the talks had found it difficult to accept requests the North made at the discussions that ended Sunday at the North’s Mount Geumgang resort.

The official was quick to add, however, that Red Cross officials did agree to hold unofficial talks on the sidelines of the 13th reunion of separated families that will begin at Mount Geumgang on Monday.

At the previous round of Red Cross talks last month, the South had agreed to provide the North equipment needed to continuously pursue projects concerning family reunions, including building a video reunion center.
