The Korean Sharing Movement International... KSMI said Sunday that it will stage protest rallies in front of major Japanese embassies and consulates around the world in June simultaneously to urge the Japanese government to rectify distortions in its middle school history textbooks.
The civic organization for ethnic Koreans abroad said it has decided to stage demonstrations in 30 nations to rally international concern over Japan's history distortions.
KSMI Secretary-General Suh Kyong-suk said that the organization will soon launch their campaign headquarters, and seek solidarity with Chinese and Filipino civic organizations in staging the rallies.
It will also organize a drive to send letters of protest to the Japanese Education Ministry.
Turning to the North Korean issue, the official said that his organization will hold an event in September and next summer, in which young Korean men in the United States will bicycle from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Washington D.C., in order to raise interest in their campaign to help the famine-stricken North.
