Govt to Donate $25 Mln to NK Children

The government will provide 25 million dollars over the next two years to help children in North Korea via the World Health Organization.

Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok signed the agreement for the aid with WHO Director-General Lee Jong-wook in Seoul Tuesday.

About half of the aid … five million dollars in cash and five-point-five million dollars in relief goods … will be provided this year.

The aid program also covers technical training for North Korean medical workers, healthcare for women and newborns in the North, improvement of medical facilities and healthcare education.
