Ex-POW in NK's Family Reunited in Seoul

The family of a former South Korean prisoner of war in North Korea has been reunited in Seoul with the Friday arrival of the final three members.

Ri Pok-hui, the daughter of former POW Ri Ki-chun, arrived Friday at Incheon International Airport with son and nephew. They were greeted by their family, who had resettled in the port city of Busan.

Ri Ki-chun had escaped from the North in November 2004. His wife and second daughter followed him to South Korea in September last year.

All seven members of the Ri family are together again through five separate escape attempts over an 18-month period.

During the Korean War, Chinese forces took Ri Ki-chun to a POW camp in North Pyongan Province in present-day North Korea.
