The Korea National Red Cross in Seoul has selected 12-hundred candidates for offline and online reunions with their relatives in North Korea slated for June.

A Red Cross source said Thursday that a computer randomly picked 800 preliminary candidates for face-to-face reunions and 400 for the video session.

The June reunions will help mark the sixth anniversary of the 2000 inter-Korean summit.

In the last Red Cross meeting in February, the two Koreas agreed to double the number of people for the offline reunions to 200 and raise the number of those to attend the video reunions from 40 to 60.
