Ordinance Passed on Inter-Korean Ties

The government has passed an enforcement ordinance to promote inter-Korean relations.

An official on Tuesday said the ordinance will provide the legal basis for creating an inter-Korean agency and supporting South Korean civic groups operating in North Korea.

Under the ordinance, Seoul can set up an office in the North to support its efforts and those of the groups in the North.

The president can also appoint the delegation head for important inter-Korean talks or negotiations needing a large budget.
