Five people threw eggs at a car carrying a U.S. delegation headed by Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage near the Hayatt Hotel in Seoul on Thursday morning.

The protesters shouted slogans urging the U.S. government not to force South Korea to participate in the missile defense shield. They were immediately arrested for questioning.

On Wednesday, hundreds of citizens took to the street in central Seoul to protest the U.S. government's missile defense plan. They gathered at Chongmyo Park and called for the U.S. government to stop the missile defense project.

Earlier in the day, dozens of people gathered at the passenger terminal of Incheon International Airport for a similar rally.
