Finance and Economy Minister Jin Nyum has urged the Asian Development Bank to join South Korea's efforts to help North Korea rebuild its economy.

Jin told an annual meeting of the ADB held in Honolulu, Hawaii that economic assistance will help North Korea to join the international community as a responsible member.

He also briefed delegates on the progress that has been made in inter-Korean economic cooperation since the historic South-North summit talks held last June.

As for domestic economic issues, Jin said South Korea will continue economic reform and restructuring through market forces rather than the government-led approach of the past three years.
