Teachers' day

May 15th, Tuesday marks the 20th anniversary for Teachers' Day in South Korea and a variety of ceremonies was held in each school across the country commemorating the virtues and expressing thanks for the good works by teachers toward the pupils.

The Seoul City Education Authorities observed a ceremony at Ewha Girls' High School by inviting 2,000 teachers across the nation and educational authorities in each province and city also hosted various commemorative events for the teachers.

Most of the schools ended their class earlier than usual in order to provide the students with time to share love between themselves and teachers. About 40 percent of the nation's elementary schools in Seoul were off Tuesday to observe Teachers' Day.
