North Korea says 220-thousand people died of starvation from 19-95 to 19-98. That's according to a report submitted to the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund by North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Choi Soo-hon.

The report said the starvation also reduced the average live expectancy from 73-point-3 in 19-93 to 66-point-8 in 19-99. The death rate among children aged five or under has increased from 27 per one thousand to 48.

The report also said per capita income halved to four-hundred-57 dollars from nine-hundred-91 dollars during the period.
