Military to Stay Patient over Canceled Test Runs

Defense Minister Yoon Kwang-ung is employing a wait-and-see attitude on North Korea's unilateral cancellation of planned test-runs of inter-Korean railways.

At a news conference for foreign journalists in Seoul Wednesday, he said that since a telegraph from the North has failed to provide enough information, he will wait several days before determining the nature of the situation.

Yoon also declined comment on Pyongyang's potential test-launch of long-range missiles, citing a lack of reliable data.

On wartime control of South Korean forces, he said his government and the United States have completely agreed on Seoul taking over command at an appropriate time, and that they will draft a roadmap to that end by fall.
