North Korean Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun arrived Tuesday in Beijing for an eight-day visit to China.

Upon arrival on a Koryo Air flight, Paek and his entourage boarded a vehicle of the North Korean Embassy in Beijing to leave the airport without answering reporters' questions on the purpose of his visit.

During his eight-day stay, Paek is expected to hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and other senior officials on jumpstarting the stalled six-party nuclear talks.

Paek is likely to deliver Pyongyang's stance on the reported U.S. move to begin talks on a peace treaty along with efforts to resolve the nuclear standoff.

He will also tour a number of Chinese provinces and the high-tech industrial city of Guangzhou.
