President Kim Dae-jung promised his full support for inventors.

The president was speaking in a ceremony marking the 36th Invention Day.

He said... inventors are truly leading the way toward national prosperity in the 21st century.

Kim said... he will designate a day each month for inventors' day to foster more favorable atmosphere for inventors.

He also said that he will uphold the patent system so that inventors' rights may be protected and that they may easily commercialize their inventions.

He promised that the government will take the lead in purchasing good patents and making the best of them.

In the ceremony, 10 exemplary inventors were honored with decorations and commendations.
