The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) said Tuesday the first ASEM (Asia Europe Meeting) Roundtable on globalization will be held Monday and Tuesday at the Hotel Shilla in downtown Seoul.

The roundtable entitled "Globalization and Regional Responses" will draw some 70 experts and scholars from ASEM member countries such as South Korea, China, Britain, France, Germany and the European Commission.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade's think tank that organized the event, the third ASEM summit held in Seoul last year endorsed the initiative jointly proposed by South Korea and Sweden to hold ASEM roundtables on globalization in 2001 and 2002, respectively.
