Unification Ministry Hits N.K. Comment

The Unification Ministry has blasted a North Korean official for saying inter-Korean cooperation will end if South Korea's main opposition Grand National Party comes into power.

Ministry spokesman Yang Chang-seok on Tuesday said the two sides have agreed not to meddle in each other's domestic affairs and recognize and respect each other's governments.

He said the comment runs counter to inter-Korean reconciliatory efforts following the 2000 joint declaration and only harms bilateral relations.
