O'seas Civic Group Urges Korean Solidarity

A group of ethnic Koreans abroad has issued a joint statement urging solidarity among Koreans for reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

On the second day of joint festivities marking the sixth anniversary of the inter-Korean summit Thursday, the group urged South and North Koreans to unite under a joint committee as two leading organizations of ethnic Koreans in Japan reached a historic reconciliation last month.

Meanwhile, group members visited an inter-Korean art exhibition and attended events celebrating the anniversary.

The group's co-chairmen will hold a closed-door meeting to discuss former South Korean President Kim Dae-jung's visit to Pyongyang on June 27th.
