France beat Portugal one-to-zero in the semifinal match Wednesday to face off against Italy in the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.

In the 33rd minute, on a penalty kick earned by Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane scored for the French. He was named the best player of the match.

France, the 1998 World Cup champion, will fight for its second title in the final match against Italy on Monday.

Portugal ended its winning streak after eleven consecutive wins in this year's games. They haven't beaten the French team since 1975.
