N.Korea Claims Launches Part of Military Drills

North Korea claims its "successful" missile launches were routine military drills to enhance its self-defense capabilities and will be continued.

In a statement by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency, the North's Foreign Ministry said Thursday that if anyone tries to put pressure on the North over the drills, Pyongyang would take bolder measures.

The ministry, however, claimed that the “drills” were unrelated to the six-party nuclear talks.

The statement came one day after the communist country fired seven missiles, including a long-range ballistic Daepodong Two missile.
