Seoul Delays Inter-Korean Talks on Festival

The government has delayed inter-Korean working-level talks on North Korea’s Arirang Festival.

A government official notified the North of the decision in consideration of various factors that affect inter-Korean relations.

The government decided that holding the talks, slated for Tuesday through Friday, ahead of inter-Korean ministerial level talks would be inappropriate.

Meanwhile, the situation on the North’s recent missile launches will be carefully monitored.

The committee plans to form a delegation to discuss the North's Arirang Festival on the North’s Mount Geumgang around July 17th or 18th.
