Day 2 of South-North Ministerial Talks Open

On the second day of the 19th inter-Korean ministerial talks in Busan Wednesday, the two Koreas will hold a plenary session and deliver keynote speeches.

Seoul's chief delegate to the four-day talks, Unification Minister Lee Jong-seok, is expected to express strong regret over North Korea's recent missile tests and urge its prompt return to the six-way nuclear talks.

Meanwhile, the North will likely justify the missile tests as part of a military drill and call for Korean solidarity against international pressure on Pyongyang.

After the general meeting followed by lunch, the two sides will exchange respective drafts on a joint statement through chief or working-level delegates' meetings.

Pyongyang delegates are set to return home Friday but the schedule could change depending on the circumstances.
