The non-governmental Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation said Wednesday that it will provide relief for North Korean victims of recent floods.
The Korean Council, a network of about two hundred civic and public organizations supporting exchanges with North Korea, said they will help the North recover from the flood damage and hold a campaign to raise funds until August 15th to help flood victims in both North and South Koreas.
Former unification minister and current chairman of the Korean Council, Jeong Se-hyun, said that it will offer some of the money raised for relief to North Korea.
The organization said the aid will help recover humanitarian spirit and improve inter-Korean relations following the North’s recent missile test-firings.
