The semi-finalists of the on-going Confederations Cup were narrowed down to France, Brazil, Japan and Australia.

Brazil again failed to solve its scoring woes, managing only a 0-0 tie with Japan on Saturday to end the first round of the Confederations Cup held in Japan.

Japan, with two wins and one draw, thus advanced to the semifinals with Brazil in Group B, which was brushed aside as a second runner up in Group B.

The semi-final games between France and Brazil will be held in Suwon city, South Korea on Thursday and the other semi-final match between Japan and Australia will be held in Yokohama, Japan on the same day.
