N. Korea: Inter-Korean Projects to Continue

North Korea says it wants to continue inter-Korean economic projects.

In a message to Hyundai Asan Corporation on the third anniversary of the death of former Hyundai Group Chairman Chung Mong-hun, the North's Asia-Pacific Peace Committee expressed its firm commitment to new developments in cross-border projects.

This is Pyongyang's first statement on inter-Korean exchanges since its missile tests early last month caused bilateral ties to cool.

The North's message is seen as hinting at a positive attitude not only toward the Mount Geumgang tour but also that to the North Korean border city of Gaesong.

Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jeong-eun said she is confident that inter-Korean projects will continue without a hitch despite the strain in cross-border ties.
