Civic groups will ship relief supplies to North Korea from Incheon Port on Wednesday to help North Korean residents who suffered much damage from torrential rains in July.
The domestic branch of the international relief organization Join Together Society will send one-hundred tons of flour and two-thousand pairs of shoes to South Pyongan Province in addition to its two shipments of medical supplies and relief goods sent last week.
JTS Korea will also send more supplies including 50-thousand dollars worth of blankets and shoes from China’s Dandong through Shinuiju to Pyongyang and Hamkyong Province.
Another international NGO, Good Neighbors, will ship one-hundred-50-million won worth of blankets and clothes to North Korea’s Nampo Port.
The Sharing Love Foundation is planning to send 50-million won worth of supplies, including three-hundred hand carts and instant noodles.
Meanwhile, a council of eleven civic groups related to inter-Korean cooperation held an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss aid for North Korean flood victims.
