Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung will likely see his annual salary rise 40 percent this year from the previous year.

Park’s agent Kim Jeong-soo, JS Limited and the club held a meeting on Wednesday to agree on the 40 percent hike proposed by Manchester.

Kim said that the negotiation is about 99 percent complete, adding that Park will sign the new contract by Friday at the latest.

Under the contract, Park’s salary will jump to some 2.8 million pounds in his second year in the English Premier League from two million pounds last year.
