'N. Korea No Longer Trusts China, Russia'

Written: 2006-08-27 17:42:19Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il says he no longer trusts China and Russia.

Kim also urged his country to overcome difficulties caused by its nuclear development through its own efforts.

His statement is an apparent response to the resolution passed by the U.N. Security Council last month after Pyongyang test-fired ballistic missiles.

Kim's comments also signify Pyongyang’s willingness to endure possible isolation from the international community as a punishment for its nuclear ambition.
