Officials said Monday North Korean officials will take part in the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) to learn skills in the English, banking and financing sectors.
A government official in Seoul said the North's Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun accepted his Malaysian counterpart Syed Hamid Albar's proposal that 30 North Korean officials join the MTCP in Malaysia.
Hamid made his first trip to the communist state from June 4 to June 6.
"Along with details about the courses, Malaysia conveyed its intention to expand the training program to the information-technology sector," the official said, adding that the North will divide the group of 30 evenly, between the English and banking-financing classes.
