NK Leader Inspects Mt. Geumgang

North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency says that leader Kim Jong-il made a field inspection to Mount Geumgang.

On the mountain's Biro Peak, Kim told officials to better arrange the tourist spots there and to prevent damage from natural phenomena.

But the report did not mention details about Kim's advice on how to better protect the scenic mountain.

The report said the Geumgang visit was made on Kim's way to inspect the military's frontline, hinting at the communist leader's current tour around military bases in the Gangwon Province.

A Seoul official however denied Kim having visited the Geumgang tourism office operated by South Korea's Hyundai Asan.
