North Korea has reaffirmed its will to make the Gaesong Industrial Complex a success.

The nation’s main operator of inter-Korean projects Hyundai Asan said Monday that during a visit by Hyundai Group Chairwoman Hyun Jung-eun ahead of the Chuseok holiday, North Korean special district development official Park Chol-su reaffirmed Pyongyang’s commitment to the Gaesong project.

Park asked Hyundai to take a leading role in the inter-Korean complex's second stage of development, and also requested Hyun to visit more often.

Before returning to Seoul Monday afternoon, the Hyundai chairwoman visited Gaesong to encourage Hyundai’s site employees and officials, and to see the complex's site for an apartment-style factory that covers three-hundred-30 hectares, an area the size of a small town.
