Koreas Hold Working-level Military Talks

Military officials from the two Koreas will meet Monday for working-level talks in the northern side of the border truce village of Panmunjeom.

The Defense Ministry said Seoul had agreed to a proposal made by the North last Thursday to open the discussions on Monday.

The ministry said that as they proposed the date for the talks, North Korean officials had stopped short of mentioning the reason for them, only saying that they wanted to discuss inter-Korean military agreements that have already been concluded.

Monday’s discussions mark the first time for the two sides to hold working-level military talks since Pyongyang test-fired missiles in early July.
