No Progress in Inter-Korean Military Talks

Working-level military talks between South and North Korea have ended without significant progress.

Military officials from the two Koreas met Monday on the northern side of the border truce village of Panmunjeom.

The two sides called it quits around noon only after two hours as the North's delegates accused the South of improper propaganda.

Seoul's delegation, on the other hand, pointed out that Pyongyang did not carry out military agreements on inter-Korean railways and the 2nd inter-Korean defense ministers’ talks.

Monday’s meeting marked the first military talks in five months since generals from the two sides met on May 16th.

The Defense Ministry's director for North Korean affairs Moon Sung-mook represented the South at the working-level meeting and North Korean Colonel Park Ki-yong represented the North.
