Matsushita to enter S. Korean 3G TV market

Japanese home appliance giant ... Matsushita Electric Industrial Company ... plans to enter the next generation television market in South Korea.
The Japan Industrial Journal said Matsushita plans to start sales of plasma display panel televisions and projection televisions in South Korea, starting this fall. The newspaper said Matsushita will be the first Japanese maker to sell P-D-P television in South Korea.
The company aims to achieve annual sales of ten billion yen or 81 million U.S. dollars in South Korea over the next three years.
Matsushita plans to introduce 42- and 50-inch P-D-P televisions and 47- and 53-inch projection televisions under its Panasonic brand name.
