North Korea hopes its nuclear test will not halt inter-Korean business projects like the Gaesong Industrial Park and Mount Geumgang tours.
Hyundai Asan President Yoon Man-jun told reporters Friday that a high-ranking North Korean official expressed concerns about the test's impact on cross-border business projects and hoped that they would continue.
Yoon will visit Pyongyang on Tuesday to attend the Yun I-sang Music Festival. He will discuss the current situation with North Korean officials in charge of inter-Korean relations.
The Hyundai Asan president said that his company will continue tours to the North Korean resort even if only one customer wants to visit.
South Korea's sole operator of tours to the Mount Geumgang North Korean resort, Hyundai Asan has seen a decrease in tourists since the nuclear test.
Immediately after Monday's nuclear test, the tours saw cancellation rates of up to 60 percent. That figure has since approached normal levels around ten percent.
