South Koreans who had been working on the North Korean side of two inter-Korean railways reportedly left the country a day after the North detonated a nuclear blast last week.

A South Korean official on Friday said that a ten-member technical team was ordered to return to the South Tuesday in an apparent response to the North’s nuclear test.

The team has been going to the North four days a week for the last phase of cross-border railway construction.

But a separate team of inspectors continues to visit three days a week.

The railway construction is 98 percent complete with installation of its signal, electricity and communication equipment at 95 percent.
