The North Korean nuclear standoff has delayed an inter-Korean ceremony to celebrate the completion of Pyongyang's Bongsu Church.

An official from the Seoul-based church association said Friday that a delegation of some one-hundred-50 believers planned to visit North Korea next week but decided to postpone the trip due to the uncertain situation.

The official, however, added that it received no directions or orders from the government, although the association did consult with the Unification Ministry on the visit.

The reconstruction of the Bongsu Protestant Church is being carried out with South Korean assistance.
