Consortium officials said Monday, a consortium building nuclear reactors in North Korea will invite North Koreans to the construction site Thursday to update them on the progress.
They said the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) will brief 21 high-level officials at the Kumho district of South Hamkyong Province on the construction schedule and process.
Cho Kyu-hyung, deputy executive director of KEDO, will be making the briefing.
The invited North Korean officials include key policymakers of reactor construction, who requested KEDO hold the briefing session to be better able to report on the progress of the construction to their superiors.
KEDO is financing a set of light water reactors in exchange for North Korea's freeze of its nuclear program.
