The government has decided to set up a committee to provide support for the World Cup and Asian Games ... both set to take place next year.
The committee, which will come under direct control of the Prime Minister's office will check and coordinate overall preparations for the two international sports events.
Officials say the vice minister of culture and tourism will head another government committee to oversee and secure government support for the games.
Meanwhile, related ministers will meet every other month to check on preparations for the games.
South Korea and Japan will co-host the World Cup finals next summer. The southern city of Busan will play host to the Asian Games.
