The National Police Agency has decided to set up emergency policy hot lines with Japan to counter acts of terrorism during the World Cup period.
A police spokesman said the police hot lines will also help the two countries jointly tackle violence by hooligans, activities of international criminal rings, and those wanted by Interpol.
The decision was made at a meeting of senior police officials stationed in South Korea`s overseas missions. N-P-A Commissioner Lee Moo-young asked the participants to collect information on hooligans and cheering squads from countries participating in the two-thousand-two World Cup, particularly related to the sale of tickets to suspected hooligans.
